Mining Book 1

Hi Everyone!  

Book is 200 pages, here's a quick synopsis:

Weng’s best friend trusts him with a secret: little tubular robots that effortlessly dig through solid rock and bring back gold. Weng repays that trust by stealing them.

He tells himself he will put things right. Instead, he puts the machines to work.

Beneath his home, a clandestine experiment begins to reward a talent society was forbidding him to use. Using his programming skills, Weng evolves the miners to be smarter, more independent, more quiet. He knows the machine ecosystem he is building deep underground will never be discovered. Increasing deliveries of precious yellow gold prove to him that he knows what he’s doing. A life of luxury awaits.

But his genius has a blind spot: the distance between teaching a machine to succeed and understanding what that success will cost everyone on earth.

I wrote this sci-fi book in 2015 and it's as relevant as ever.  No AI in the writing.  This is my first time publishing anything, please write a comment what you thought of it! Did it make you think, give you ideas? For example, the extreme sports safety system is possible to be built right now.  It was my goal that nothing should break physical laws.  Oh and the novel takes place in China.  What a coincidence that Covid would start there just 4 years after I wrote the book.  The plot and that event are scarily similar.  But to know that you'll have to read the book;) So let's mine some Gold!!
